Mayyazhippuzhayude Theerangalil (On the Banks of the River Mayyazhi)

M. Mukundan's fabulous novel 'Mayyazhippuzhayude Theerangalil' (On the Banks of the River Mayyazhi) is still one of the first picks by any serious readers of Malayalam literature. I read it in the early 80s. Recently when I visited Mayyazhi (Mahe), I saw the characters and  incidents in the novel were beautifully sculptured on a wall in a park near the river by artist K. K. R. Vengara. Instantly, all memories came alive. **   ** **   **   ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
